Welcome to study and borrow books and journals! You also have access to electronic resources, such as fulltext articles, eBooks, dictionaries and encyclopedias.
Library Card
The MASTO library card is available for free at all Information and Library Services locations. Please fill in the application form and present your official identity card.
- Library card PIN code is by default 12345; to change it, log in MASTO Online Catalogue - click My Account.
PIN-code is required at the self check-out system, web renewals, reservations, and Booking a PC / Group Study Room.
The library card is personal and must always be presented when borrowing material. Please notify the Information and Library Services of any changes to your name or other contact information, or should you lose your library card.
The card owner is responsible for any material borrowed on the card.
Loans, Renewals, Requests
Loan periods vary depending on the material, so please check your due date receipt. For instance, all Lahti University of Applied Sciences course books have a loan period of 14 days.
Each loan can be renewed 10 times:

You can make a free reservation at MASTO Online Catalogue for material that has been lent out. You cannot reserve material that you yourself have on loan. Please note, that there is a fee for reservations not collected.
NELLI Portal
NELLI is a customized service package, where search results from several databases can be retrieved simultaneously.

Please pay attention to copyrights: the right to use use does NOT include database copying, distributing or transmitting to server.

Book a group study room or PC on the Internet
You can book a group study room or PC using your MASTO library card and its personal PIN-code. You will need the library card number and the PIN-code both for booking and logging in the computer.
Study rooms and computers are located at Fellmannia.
Information Skills Tests
Information Skills is one subject in the Efficient Working course, which includes a skills test. There are several test dates to choose from. Tests take place at Fellmannia, Kirkkokatu 27, Lahti.
Information Skills Clinic
All our locations offer help in information seeking at Information Skills Clinics. This service is aimed at all our clients.
At the clinic, Information Specialist helps you personally in finding and using databases relevant to your subject. You are welcome in all information finding problems, big or small!
